A successful learning experience at Alliance Academy would not be possible without the partnership and dedication of our parents. Parental participation in our program is solicited and highly encouraged!
Because open communication between school and home improves the quality of the educational experience it is necessary that our Parent/Student Advocate act as a liaison to provide services that ensures that all children come to school, remain in school and benefit fully from classroom instruction while in attendance.
The Advocate also assists in the following ways:
• Is responsible for bringing students, teachers, and the community together to resolve problems that hinder a child’s success.
• The advocate actively promotes parent and community involvement.
• The advocate works closely with the Principal, the Social Worker, and the Teaching Staff to implement and reinforce school wide classroom management techniques.
• Maintains an ongoing personal contact with parents and guardians and community contacts.
• Mediates peer groups and assisted them with developing resolution techniques and plans for increasing self esteem and leadership by acting as a mentor.
• Advises the Parent Group regarding the scope of projects and activities planned for students.
Parents are urged to be involved on leadership committees, in the classroom and in the myriad of details that make a school function effectively. We wish to let all Alliance Academy parents know that they are always welcome and that they possess the keys to the success of every Alliance Academy child!
